Although paper checks are becoming a thing of the past, Comcheks can still help your drivers in many scenarios. For example, say your driver needs to pay a lumper, but doesn’t have any cash on hand nor a Comdata card. Their only choice is to draw money from an ATM on a personal credit card, which will incur a fee for them. If the driver had a Comchek on hand, they could cash the money for the lumper free of charge.
Contact your Comdata representative to set your account up for Comchek Drafts, so you can begin ordering and distributing Comcheks to your drivers. But note, your drivers cannot use Comchek Drafts without an Express Code, a 14- 18-digit numeric code that represents a specified dollar amount. Moreover, Comcheks cannot be cashed or deposited without registering the Express Code to the Comchek and receiving an authorization from Comdata. Authorization can be obtained from Comdata by calling the 1-800 number located on the Comchek.
Once the Comchek is filled out correctly, the driver can use it like a regular check and cash or deposit it with no fees. Then, they can get back on the road and continue their business in no time.
